Day 17 – your highs and lows of this past year.

I’ve had a mixture of Highs and Lows over the past year. Many lows that I wont be going into but will probably write about when I feel like it.

Some of the high’s

  • Spring Harvest 2011
  • Finding the Trigger for migrains
  • Pain relief from lack of migrains
  • Discovered things I enjoy such as Rock Climbing
  • Made many new friends
  • Northampton Time – seeing friends from Uni Times
  • Getting involved with events I’ve helped with in the background

Some of the lows

  • Finding the Trigger for migrains to be chocolate
  • Not having someone to share stuff with

Day 16 – your views on mainstream music

What is mainstream music? it seems that there are so many different styles of music now and so many channels on the radio and TV that there is no particular mainstream – either that or I am just unaware of it now.

I’m aware of “pop” music, but as stated previously, there are many variations of popular. I enjoy some of it, I’ve always enjoyed music with a good rhythem that you can dance too. I’ve noticed most music is in beats of 4 or 8, which means you can usually fit any dance to it.

Using up ingredients…

At the moment I’m trying to use up all the stuff in my cuboards and see what I can make with the variety of ingredients I have. Many that are coming to out of date time so need to be used up.

This is my most recent thing I’ve attempted – Its not quite what the receipe said but I didn’t have everything it said so I substituted ingredients to see what would happen:

Flaxseed Fruity Desert or Breakfast

Ingredients

8 x tbsp Flaxseed with Goji Berroes Mixture
1 cup of Water
1 cup of Milk
Half a cup of Sultanas
1 tbsp Honey
Juice of an Orange
1 banana
1 apple

Method
Heat the milk to boil, and turn down to simmer.
Add the Flaxseed mixture and keep stiring to stop it going lumpy (apparently)
When mixed nicely, Add the sultanas and a grated apple and keep mixing.
After a minute or so, add the Honey & juice and stir
Mix in and allow to cool

I found I could eat it two ways.

1. Hot as a kind of breakfast meal with some yogurt on the top.
2. As a desert I added double cream on the top after pouring the mixture into stumpy glasses.

How it turned out

I added the banana chopped over the top of both variations

Apparently its quite healthy for you, but the taste was something strange to start with, but overall quite nice but not something I’d go out and buy the ingredients for.

Day 14 – My Earliest Memory

Strangely my earliest memory is from when I was still around 5 to 6 months old and its not much.

I remembered laid back being carried around and seeing a light switch hanging from the ceiling that I tried to grab.

I ask my parents recently when that was and they told me it was in the first house in Darlington, but I couldn’t remember that as we moved when I was 6 months old.

Other than that, I don’t really know what my first memory was.

Day 10 – discuss your first love and first kiss.

My first love and first kiss was both with the same girl, when I was 17 and in college. The same year I discovered a lot of myself, the freedoms that like can provide, many lows and many more highs. I learned to drive when 17 or at least thats when I started.

My relationship lasted over 12 months, and overall quite awesome. I discovered many things and enjoyed my time with her.

Although looking back, I don’t see that we had much money to do things, we always found something we could do together, be that cooking & eating, going to the park, walking litterally everywhere, watching movies, enjoying a night out occasionally and spending lots of time with friends and just with one another.

My first kiss… I had talked with friends about kissing, and seen movies with it in but before 17, hadn’t experienced it for myself. It was an afternoon after college, I’d walked her home and we stopped near the lights. I wasn’t sure what you were meant to do, and don’t really remember a lot of it – just that I was happy and we both were smiling a lot afterwards. The first kiss, was with my then new girlfriend and first love.

Day 8 – A moment you felt the most satisfied with your life.

I was out in a field, surrounded by friends in a place I felt very safe and yet totally away from normal life. I knew and still do know that my friends will support me in whatever I was to try.

Life, I can’t say was or is perfect but Happy, yes, certainly happy and the knowledge that anything can change at any point and those around me will support me is quite exciting.

Time Out – Leeds

Last weekend I went to leeds to stay with some good friends, I’ve not seen them in ages and found one of them was up near me on Friday so we drove down to leeds in the evening.

Weekends usually consist of cooking, chilling out, playing games, drinking and chatting but this weekend was different. For one thing the weather was a lot nicer than usual – mid 20’Cs. We still did a lot of what we usually do but in the afternoon I went rock climbing with one of them. I’ve only done it 3 times before, and not really done much of it.

I really enjoyed the day, we were there for about 4 hours in total. We both didn’t really think we’d last over 2 hours. I’ve never tried bouldering which was a lot harder work than I anticipated. I do wish that there was something in Teesside that offered such a variety of wall climbing things. The one I’ve been to at the moment, is just one wall instead of the 10+ ones that were there. Its something I plan to go to again.

Monday was a good day, it was gorgeous hot sunny day and I had it booked off – just felt I needed a break and found out on Friday, my friend also was off the monday (and rest of week). We had a day out, a good walk into the town centre to get a pie and then back via the park.

Something I’ve not done in years, we went to the play park and went on the swings – Always loved going on the swings and think in the future if I have a garden, its something I would add to it as it gives a great feeling of freedom while your flying through the air. We played frizbee for about an hour or so too, in lovely sunshine and a little rain which was refreshing before walking back.

It may sound simple, and quite boring to many but it was a lot of fun and something I plan to do again. All in all, it was a great weekend, relaxing and good time with friends.
